Davka In My Backyard

Aliza and Meir are local residents who have dedicated their lives to uplifting and helping those who get overlooked by the system. Their own childhood poverty has taught them the power of communal help. From Holocaust survivors and elderly immigrants from the former Soviet Union to single mothers and youth at risk all are welcome at their center and all benefit from their local activism.

We will hear their empowering personal stories and how they manage an all-volunteer center, meeting the needs of those less fortunate residents of Afula. Then, rolling up our sleeves, we will get to work packing boxes, moving crates, and delivering goods to the people they serve.
